I'll tell you a little insider secret about a lot of the movies you will find in the "gay" genre of your iTunes/Netflix/HuluPlus rental section: they aren't always so solid on the narrative arcs or dialogue. PLUS, there's tons of lesbian all up in it so if you're secretly wondering how you might feel about touching lady bits, you can watch all these gals have all of the sex and then think to yourself, "I am soooo turned on," OR, "I could really use another handful of Doritos." You can also evaluate how you feel about prison.
OK, this is not a movie, but it's great because it is a hit TV series and no one will question your motives. She discusses why she does or doesn't agree with certain ideals and tells her own story, which is very interesting and involves a lot of time spent in Youth Group. It's about a girl who has to come to terms with her sexuality in the context of her religious background.
This movie is a phenomenal and terrifying and a very important TRUE story that needs to be seen/heard by every individual regardless of how you identify.Īn autobiographical documentary (with some cute animation)! This is awesome for recognizing how FUCKING TERRIBLE people can be to one another. Important sidebar: This is a great movie to pretend you don't know what it's about and then force your gal pals to watch with you, so you can gauge their reactions. But also, it's well-written and everyone involved is very talented. IT'S THE WORST YOUR STOMACH IS IN PITS THROUGH THE WHOLE THING IT'S SO DRAMATIC. Piper Perabo is about to get married to a boy and meets the girl of her dreams. Also it's three hours long so Kristin refuses to watch it.Įasily my favorite gay movie. There is a pretty graphic sex scene, so if you're embarrassed easily don't watch it with your dad or whatever. Then the timing gets really weird and no one even slightly ages over the span of what might be two years but also might be 19 years. The main girl nervously goes to a gay bar by herself, feels uncomfortable in her school environment and thinks she's dating someone because they kissed once - it's all VERY ACCURATE.
They really encompass all of the feelings you have when you're trying to figure your shit out.
